The Wow-Pen is a Pen and a Mouse

I posted recently about a WiFi-detecting pen, but now it’s time to talk about a digital pen that is also a MOUSE.

The Wow-Pen is a digital mouse that moonlights as a pen. Or, is it that the Wow-Pen is a digital pen that moonlights as a mouse. . . .

It’s both, actually.

The wireless USB receiver enables the Wow-Pen to, as I4U News puts it, “. . . toggle back and forth from pen to mouse function with the click of a button.”

The Wow-Pen has a USB clip that reads your handwriting as you take notes, draw, or write.

Whatever you put down on ordinary paper with the Wow-Pen is stored in the USB clip, and when you are ready to put it on your computer, you just click a button to change the Wow-Pen from pen to mouse.

Graphic designer and professional speaker Jeff Compton has this to say about the Wow-Pen: “Since graphic design is my field, the Wowpen was put to immediate use. But as a speaker and presenter, there was also a personal need for such a portable and usable tool. Any person who draws sketches at work, like clothing designers or architects, could really use this pen. But it also has use in meetings or group brainstorming sessions. Even a college student who is taking notes could really benefit from this practical pen and mouse tool,”

Sunplus mMedia Introduces WiFi Frame at CES!

Posted on Jan 17, 2008 by Jane Goodwin at 12:05 am

pf-a01 geniusSunplus mMedia’s new SPMP2800 picture frame was displayed for the first time at the International CES this month, and it looks like a good one, folks.

The president of Sunplus mMedia, Yarn-Chen Chen, says that “By leveraging Sunplus mMedia’s expertise in imaging technologies, the SPMP2800 chip set is tailored to realize cost-effective DPF’s with superior image quality and faster decoding speed to the comparable solutions in the current market.”

In other words, the new Sunplus mMedia SPMP2800 digital picture frame is reasonably priced and gives you great pictures, bright, clear, and sharp.

Better still, the Sunplus frame has WiFi connectivity; besides its USB interface and several flash drive and memory card interfaces; you will be able to upload pictures in many different ways.

It’s the WiFi connection that interests me the most. I love my wireless digital picture frame so much, I want everyone to have a wireless frame so they can enjoy it as much as I do.

I hope the Sunplus SPMP2800 is FrameChannel-compatible.

WiFi-Detecting Wristwatch Is Perfect Gift!

Posted on Dec 20, 2007 by Jane Goodwin at 12:05 am

wifi_detecting_watchWe are fast becoming more and more dependent upon a wireless connection in our day-to-day lives. This isn’t a bad thing; it’s just a fact.

When we are away from home, it’s sometimes difficult to know where the hotspots are. If only there were some way to know when you’re in a place that has a wireless connection. . . .

Hah. I’ve posted before about the T-shirt that detects the hotspots, but now there’s a way that’s perhaps a bit more “professional.” It’s a wristwatch with the pushbutton wireless detector built right in!

ThinkGeek is offering a stylish steel-case, rubber strap band wristwatch that does far more than tell you the time and date; this watch also tells you whether or not you’re in a wireless hotspot and if so, how strong it is. Just push the side button and if there’s wireless where you are, the strength is shown as a number from 0 to 8.wifi_detecting_watch_additional

This classy wristwatch also has an alarm, a countdown timer, world time zone mode, calendar, and is backlit to make it all even easier to view. Lithium battery needed, but it’s also included.

If you’re on vacation or just away from your home and need to pump up your laptop, it’s easy to find a good spot to do so with this great wristwatch. Get some work done, or do something fun, such as. . . SEND SOME PICTURES TO YOUR WIRELESS DIGITAL PHOTO FRAME BACK HOME!

Your family can see what you’re seeing, just a few seconds removed from real time!

This watch is only $29.99 right now. That’s an outstanding price for any kind of good watch, and an amazing price for a WiFi-detecting good watch.

Wireless/Digital Picture Frames Are One of the Hottest Items of the 2007 Holidays!

Posted on Dec 1, 2007 by Jane Goodwin at 12:00 am

From Robin Goad at Hitwise comes some great news about wireless/digital picture frames! Apparently, they are one of most popular items on peoples’ Christmas lists for the 2007 season. I will have to admit that I am not in the least surprised at this statistic, because a wireless digital picture frame is Number ONE on my own personal Christmas list.

Wireless digital photo frames haven’t overtaken the Nintendo Wii or the iPhone yet, but if we wait just a little while, I would bet that they will. After all, who can find a Wii or an iPhone anywhere? But wireless/digital photo frames are still available, FOR NOW.

And can you watch your children grow up before your very eyes on an iPhone? Can you send your mother real-time pictures of your vacation with a Wii? I think not.

For personal heart-warming sharing, you need a wireless/digital picture frame.

They’re flying off the shelves, though, so if you want one, or want to get one for someone else, you’d better hurry up and get it before it’s too late.

Whether you’re talking about Amazon or K-Mart, online or mall, wireless/digital picture frames are one of the most popular items of the season. People who, a week ago, had never heard of such a thing, are now searching for just that right wireless/digital frame for a loved one. The frames are especially popular as a gift item for grandparents or other people who don’t have a computer, because you don’t necessarily NEED a computer for most frames! People are also opening the box, programming the frame, and then re-wrapping it, so when Grandma or Great-Uncle Bert open the frame, all he/she has to do is plug it in and it’s ready to go, slideshowing the grandkids and their antics - and their growing up - across the frame in bright, colorful, glowing action. Videos, too, and music! The perfection of a wireless/digital picture frame as a gift is unparalleled, unsurpassed, unbelievable!

framechannel2Even better - if you get a WIRELESS frame, you can get a FrameChannel account and program that frame from anywhere in the world!

To see just exactly how well wireless/digital picture frames are doing, compared to other electronic products, and to see exactly where people are going to find them, check out the graphs on the Hitwise webpage.

A picture is worth a thousand words, and a graph is a kind of picture.

Don’t forget, too, that a digital picture is worth a million words, and if you have a wireless/digital photo frame, you can watch the proof right there on your wall or desktop, any time you want. Just push a button on the wireless remote that comes with the frame, and you’re Harry Potter. Harry Potter and the Wireless Picture Frame.

I’d buy that book, and I’d read it cover to cover.
