Your Child’s Teacher Wants A Wireless/Digital Photo Frame

Posted on Aug 21, 2007 by Jane Goodwin at 12:05 am

School is starting, and many families are trying to think of a unique and useful gift to give their child’s teacher. I have a suggestion.

I think every teacher should have a wireless digital photo frame in the classroom.

Think about it: a large wireless digital photo frame on the wall, in plain view of the students. The teacher has a digital camera or, even better, a wireless digital camera, and through each class, he/she takes pictures of the students at work. All day long, the slideshow plays on the wall, and students from one class see the students from other classes working, playing, singing, etc.

Speaking of students singing . . . most wireless digital picture frames have built-in speakers, and wouldn’t it be wonderful to HEAR the students, as well as see them?

Think about the possibilities. With a wireless digital picture frame in every room, including the principal’s office and the foyer, guests and visitors and parents would get a virtual tour every moment of the day! Schools might even raise some money by selling some of the great snapshots to the parents! It would be a great way to monitor weather reports, too; those Snow Days are pretty precious, you know.

I know, too, that when students KNOW they’re being watched closely, they behave better. What kid wants a picture of him throwing a spitball, plastered all over the school?

I’m a teacher, and I would love to own a wireless digital photo frame. I’ve talked to other instructors, and the very thought of having wireless digital photo frames in our classrooms is absolutely dazzling.

We could even send pictures to a student’s home computer, as a reward! (or a punishment; that would be up to the student.)

I think I’m on to something here. Every teacher I’ve talked to would be thrilled beyond measure to have a wireless digital photo frame.

When you head out to the mall to get your child’s teacher a memorable gift, why not check out the digital picture frames? WalMart’s got them. So does K-Mart. Best Buy. Sam’s Club. CostCo.

There really aren’t very many variety/electronics stores that DON’T carry wireless digital picture frames now, in fact. They’re one of the hottest items on the shelves!
