According to Digitimes, Asustek is getting ready to launch its own wireless digital picture frame line this summer, perhaps as early as June 2008, joining Sony as an already-established electronics company deciding to join the ever-growing, ever-popular wireless digital picture.market.
Some of the new Asustek wireless/digital picture frames will be compatible with Bluetooth devices, most of the digital frames will have wireless internet access, and some will be able to receive DVB-T and DVB-11 signals to display television programs.
Asutek’s decision to enter the wireless digital picture frame market is another indication of the massive wireless photo frame growth predicted for 2008: there were 12-13 million units sold in 2007, and 20 million units are expected to be sold this year. It is also predicted that consumers will be purchasing wireless digital picture frames with larger viewing screens; last year, 7-inch frames were the most popular, but this year, it’s predicted that 8 and 10-inch frames will be the most popular. (Thank you, Digitimes, for the stats!)
I hope the new Asustek wireless digital frames are FrameChannel-compatible!
This year, why not put something a little ‘different’ in your window for Halloween. Put your wireless digital picture frame in the window, and let it give the trick-or-treating kids a slideshow of scary Halloween sights.
And where can you get a slideshow of Halloween photos to scare and entertain the kids who’ll be ringing your doorbell?
I happen to know for a fact that FrameChannel has two Halloween channels, and that next year there will be even more.
In fact, why don’t you get yourself a FrameChannel account right now, TONIGHT, and make some channels of your own.
Halloween is only one holiday. FrameChannel will have channels for every holiday, season, event. . . you name it. . . . and you can hook into every one!
AND, you can make your own, too. Make a channel of your kids, your vacation, your dogs, your travels. . . make it private (for your frame only) or make it public and let the whole family use them.
FrameChannel is so cool; I’m only just beginning to realize how much there is to learn and do, and how versatile and informative it is.
At any rate, this year, you don’t have to deal with pumpkin goop ground into the carpet. Just tune into one of the Halloween channels on FrameChannel. Just tune your wireless photo frame up and sit back and ENJOY.
Happy Halloween from Frame Media, FrameChannel, and Wireless Digital Picture Frames.
