The Parrot DF7700: The Waiting Is Almost Over!

Posted on Mar 31, 2008 by Jane Goodwin at 12:05 am

Parrot_DF7700_270x212I’ve posted before about the upcoming Parrot DF7700 wireless digital picture frame, and it looks like the waiting is almost over!

CNet Reviews’ Kent German informs us that this amazing Parrot wireless digital photo frame will be unveiled at this week’s CTIA.

According to Mr. German, “. . .the Parrot DF7700 is the first digital photo frame (as least that we know of) with an integrated SIM card and dedicated phone number. The phone number will allow you to send photos directly from your camera phone to the DF7700.”

The Parrot DF7700 wireless photo frame comes in both black leather or brown leather. The 7-inch display features 720 x 480 pixels, and supports 262,000 colors. Various features include adjustable backlighting and automatic photo orientation. This frame can hold up to 500 images in JPEG or GIF format, and when you use the wireless features, the number of pictures are, of course, unlimited.

Still no price available, but by this time next week, Parrot is sure to disclose it.

11% of U.S. Households Own A Digital Picture Frame

Posted on Mar 13, 2008 by Jane Goodwin at 12:05 am

102_1898From Greg Scoblete of Twice comes this article about the rising numbers of wireless/digital picture frames in homes today:

“Eleven percent of all U.S. households own a digital photo frame, according to PMA’s 2008 U.S. Digital Imaging Survey.

That figure is roughly double the number of households owning a digital frame in 2006.

According to PMA, 15 percent of digital camera households reported owning a digital photo frame in 2007 vs. 9 percent in 2006. Its rapid growth as a digital camera accessory owes to falling prices and improved performance, the association observed. Frames are also benefiting from the large install base of digital cameras, as consumers look for means of viewing their images, the association said.”

I’ve got mine; that’s it right up there. And that’s my little son, twenty years ago, smiling at everyone with the same smile he still uses today. When I look at the slideshow on my Digital Spectrum MF8104, time goes backwards, and sometimes it stands still.
