According to Michael Fitzhugh of the East Bay (California) Business Times, Pandigital is now the Number One seller of wireless/digital photo frames!
The Pandigital frame pictured here is one of the newest PanTouch frames, which were discussed on this blog last Thursday.
Dean Finnegan, Pandigital’s CEO and founder, has built Pandigital from the ground up, beginning in August of 2006, underselling other digital picture frame companies and capturing more and more of the market each year. This year - 2008 - Pandigital’s sales topped $44 million, employs about 85 people, and sells wireless/digital photo frames ranging in size from 1.8 inches to 15 inches.
Dean Finnegan is pictured here with his incredible 15-inch Pandigital picture frame, which was featured right here on February 15. Click here to see that post again, and to watch the consumer-generated video about it.

Pandigital’s Pan-150 15-inch digital picture frame is set to hit the market by the end of April, according to a press release from the company. Dean Finnegan, CEO of Pandigital, told us recently that the company would be offering this frame, as well as a 10-inch frame, in April. He also told us to look for new connectivity kits - WiFi and Bluetooth - in May.

The 15-inch frame offers:
- 1024 x 768 resolution
- 256MB built-in memory
- Support for MPEG1 and MPEG 4, AVI, and MP3
- Integrated stereo speakers
- Slots for SD, xD, MSPro, MSDuo, CF, MMC cards
The frame runs US$299 and, according to Pandigital, will be released by the end of April.
I had the opportunity to meet with Dean Finnegan, Founder and President of Pandigital at PMA last week. Pandigital has taken the digital frame market by storm with complete market share dominance in their first year. Finnegan told me that his shipments were “double the next closest competitor”.
Interesting tidbits that Dean shared with me:
- Pandigital products are available at over 9600 retail locations.
- Pandigital shipped over 520,000 units in second half of 2006.
- 78% of buyers of Pandigital products are female.
- Retail price of Pandigital products ranged from $99 to $299.
Also noteworthy, their 15 inch unit is due out in May and their wireless entry will be available in Q4.
