From Imaging Resource comes this VERY interesting conversation between IR senior editor Shawn Barnett and Sony spokesman Phil Bouchillon, at the 2008 PMA’s.
Mr. Bouchillon tells us pretty much everything anyone would need to know about the latest Sony digital picture frames, and in a way that is easy to understand.
You can watch the video about Sony digital picture frames right here.

From Greg Scoblete of Twice comes this article about the rising numbers of wireless/digital picture frames in homes today:
“Eleven percent of all U.S. households own a digital photo frame, according to PMA’s 2008 U.S. Digital Imaging Survey.
That figure is roughly double the number of households owning a digital frame in 2006.
According to PMA, 15 percent of digital camera households reported owning a digital photo frame in 2007 vs. 9 percent in 2006. Its rapid growth as a digital camera accessory owes to falling prices and improved performance, the association observed. Frames are also benefiting from the large install base of digital cameras, as consumers look for means of viewing their images, the association said.”
I’ve got mine; that’s it right up there. And that’s my little son, twenty years ago, smiling at everyone with the same smile he still uses today. When I look at the slideshow on my Digital Spectrum MF8104, time goes backwards, and sometimes it stands still.
The new Mustek PF-A950PS digital picture frame, which will be introduced at Las Vegas’s PMA (Jan. 31 - Feb. 2), is an exceptionally handsome frame, and part of that really attractive bezel is a flat panel speaker being driven by NXT flat-panel speaker technology.
With the large, clear, concise 9.5″ LCD screen - 800 x 480 resolution and 16:9 aspect ratio - your pictures will be as lifelike as though the subjects were standing in the room with you!
The Mustek PF-A950PS digital photo frame also supports almost all memory cards and flash drives, and can be connected directly to your computer via the USB port. The frame shows JPEG photos.
But besides photos, this frame also shows videos and plays music.
You can program and control your slideshows, videos, and music with the wireless remote, or by the buttons which are all on the back of the frame, making the front of the frame more attractive.
You’ll be able to see this new Mustek digital frame in PMA booth K179 at the Las Vegas Convention Center from Jan. 31 - Feb. 2.
David Ficken, Director of Sales, Mustek, says that “The highlight of the new PF-A950PS is the audio performance achievement by the NXT flat-panel. Rivaling that experienced with home theater, the rich, diffuse soundfield makes the PF-A950PS stand out in a crowded digital photo frame market. This premium audio solution locks sound and vision together, making the PF-A950PS ideal for consumers who want to use their digital photo frame as an integrated entertainment device.”
This new Mustek digital frame will ship in May with a suggest starting price of $249.00.
I’ve posted about Mustek products before. Mustek is the company that has the iPod Dock!
