LiteOn IT Skyla Memoir Scanning Digital Photo Frame

Posted on Nov 20, 2008 by Jane Goodwin at 12:05 am

The LiteOn IT Memoir Scanning 8-inch Digital Photo Frame is FANTASTIC!  Most people have shoeboxes and albums full of old photographs, and up to now, the only way to get them on our computers or digital frames has been to scan them and then save them AS. . . some file.

No more!

Now, with the LiteOn Memoir, we can scan all of those old family pictures directly onto the frame itself, WITH the frame itself!!!!

Any normal-size old picture (no bigger than 4 x 6) can be easily converted into digital files and displayed on your digital frame.

The new LiteOn Skyla Memoir digital frame has a full gig of internal memory, an 800 x 600 resolution, and up to a 600-dpi scanning resolution.

This digital frame has two USB ports, which means that you can be copying your pictures as you view them.

Not only will your LiteOn Skyla Memoir frame display your pictures; it can also play your favorite Mp3’s, your motion JPEGs, your MPEG1’s, and your MPEG4 files.  It also has an alarm clock and calendar.

To scan your old photographs, just push the button on the side of the frame and insert a photo.  The frame scans it for you and within seconds, your newly-scanned picture will appear on the frame’s screen!

But it might be easier for you to just watch a video!  This one shows you how simple it is to scan a picture with the LiteOn Skyla Memoir Scanning Digital Photo Frame:

The LineOn IT Skyla Memoir Scanning Digital Photo Frame will be available this December, just in time for your holiday pictures!!!  Best of all, the price is right: the suggested price is around $200.00!

iGala Introduces New Wireless Digital Picture Frame!

Posted on Nov 17, 2008 by Jane Goodwin at 12:05 am

PR Web Press Release Newswire brings us word that Aequitas Technologies announced, on Nov. 13, that it has released the iGala Wireless Digital PIcture Frame.  I’m always happy to hear of yet another electronics company savvy enough to have a WIRELESS digital picture frame in its inventory!

Here is the Press Release:

” ‘By leveraging the content service provided by Microsoft, iGala is able to bring great images and informational content to its customers.  Meanwhile, iGala’s powerful touch screen interface and networking features provide a great platform to distribute Windows Live FrameIt contents to end users,’ said Yorick Zhyang, Vice President of Aequitas Technologies LLC.

The iGala Wireless Digital PIcture  Frame comes with a top of the line 800 X 600 4:3 Digital LCD 8″ screen.  The touch screen interface lets customers complete frame setup without a connected PC.  Customers can also select on-demand content including News, Traffic, and Weather information proved by Windows Live FrameIt.

The iGala DPF automatically syncs with online photo sharing services including Flickr and FrameIt.  Customers will no longer need to use email to share digital images with their families and friends.    Images uploaded to an online photo account, will automatically be displayed on every iGala Frame subscribed to that account.

Customers will also be able to associate a Gmail account with their iGala DPF and then email photos direction to the frame from anywhere in the world.

‘IGala’s unique Touch Screen User Interface makes it easy for Windows Live and iGala’s shared customers to sync their online photos with iGala’s digital frame and retrieve online content from Windows Live FrameIt,’ said Brian Hall, general manager of Windows Live at Micxrosoft Corp.  ‘The two products integrate seamlessly together to provide our customers with great value and convenience.’

This collaberation between Aequitas and Microsoft has arrived just in time for the holiday season.  Families can utilize the convenience of Windows Live FrameIt and iGala Digital Picture Frame to share their new memories throughout the rest of the year.”

I wonder if the new iGala wireless digital picture frame will become FrameChannel-compatible.  I hope so!
