D-Link DIR-685 Router: FrameChannel Compatible!

Posted on Jun 30, 2009 by Jane Goodwin at 1:45 pm

Over on one of FrameMedia’s other websites, Information Appliance, Emily has written a great article about the new FrameChannel-compatible D-Link DIR-685 router:

D-Link Xtreme N DIR-685

OhGizmo! just reviewed the new D-Link DIR-685 router. The router has a 3.2″ LCD screen and is FrameChannel compatible!

The router earned a great review for being easy to set up, very fast, good looking, and having lots of integrated options for storage and remote content access.

The author had great things to say about FrameChannel, too:

You can customize the display options for every single thing you want to include, from the time of day that each thing shows up, to the duration that it shows up for, to the priority that it has compared to the rest of your stuff. So for example, you can have traffic and weather and news headlines show up in the morning, followed by RSS feed items in the afternoon, and pics from Flickr in the evening. Generally I find services like this to be bloated and cumbersome, but FrameChannel is refreshingly simple and full featured. You can even set how often your router updates its FrameChannel content, which is a nice touch.
