Just bought a W1020 last week as a gift for my parents. I intend to get as familiar as possible with it now, including setting up a framechannel account, before giving it to them to hopefully avoid any pitfalls after I leave town. So far, it looks like it’ll work as expected as the intent is to have a way my folks can check out updated pictures of their grandkids without having to head down to the basement and logging onto the computer.
One little note about an issue I’ve run into…the frame and your PC need to be on the same subnet for them to “connect” otherwise you have to configure your frame via your PC using the Mac instructions which means using the webserver on the frame itself. No big deal for me but others may be frustrated, if not disappointed.
