Digital photo frame demand to hit 20 million units in 2008
A recent DigiTimes article further confirmed previous reports on the increasing demand for digital photo frames. After reaching a demand of 12 million in 2007, that number is expected to increase to 20 million in 2008. The article, pasted below and available from DigiTimes, also mentioned that North America and Europe continue to have the highest demand for digital frames, while dropping prices will aid the increasing demand.

With technology improving and prices falling, demand for digital photo frames is expected to increase to 20 million units in 2008, according to Taiwan’s Industrial Economics and Knowledge Center (IEK). A number of international leading makers such as Samsung, Sony, Kodak, Philips, ViewSonic, and Hewlett Packard (HP), among others are now offering models sized as small as 1.5-inches and as large as 32-inches.
The global market for digital photo frame products reached about 12 million units in 2007, according to IEK.
Demand for low-priced digital photo frames in North America has helped drive sales, with models priced as low as under-US$49, while higher-end models are now being introduced with features such as video, music, and other applications such as a calendar, noted Chih-hao Yeh, projector manager at Taiwan digital photo frame vendor AboCom Systems.
Yeh also pointed out that the North America and Europe market currently account for 80% of the global market but shipments in Asia are expected to increase in 2008.

John,
Great question! About 10% of the frames on the market today are wireless. This number is expected to jump to about 33% by 2010.
Thanks,
Emily

Yes … but what % will be wireless?
