Vodafone Netherlands introduces digital photo frame with integrated SIM

According to an press release posted on TradingMarkets.com, Vodafone recently introduced a digital frame integrated with a SIM card. Using Vodafone’s mobile technology, pictures can be directly uploaded to the screen via picture messaging or the internet.

Jan 21, 2008 (TELECOMWORLDWIRE via COMTEX) — VOD | news | PowerRating | PR Charts — A digital photo frame with integrated SIM card has been introduced by mobile communications company Vodafone, in the Netherlands.

Vodafone said photos can be sent via the mobile network to the digital frame, even when the user is abroad, with the SIM card in the frame enabling a direct upload of the photos onto the screen.

The frame can receive photos via MMS or the Internet, enabling the frame’s content to be refreshed from anywhere around the world, provided the frame is in the Netherlands. The frame is ready to be used as soon as it is plugged in and there are no costs for the use of the frame.

The Vodafone 520 digital photo frame offers an internal storage capacity of 100MB, extendable to up to 2GB, with a 7″ TFT screen with resolution of 800 x 480. The frame is priced at EUR149.99 and can be bought for EUR199.99 in combination with a Vodafone postpaid contract and selected camera phones.
