Doors open to public beta of FrameChannel
Frame Media, Inc. (the owner of www.wirelesspictureframe.com) opened the doors to a public beta of its FrameChannel service (www.framechannel.com).
FrameChannel is a free web-based service which allows users to program a personalized content stream for use with wireless picture frames and other devices and software that support image based RSS feeds. With over 200 channels of dynamic content, FrameChannel allows for a “Mashup” of photos including personal photos, photos from invited friends as well as news, weather, jokes and other text-based content. FrameChannel has also created a unique flyer maker that enables friends to post messages and greeting cards into a user’s photo stream. For each user in the system, a unique RSS feed of images is created for each user which is updated every fifteen minutes. This RSS feed is compatible with the Media RSS format (http://search.yahoo.com/mrss), popularized by Flickr, and works with a variety of hardware and software products including wireless picture frames, screen savers and desktop widgets for both the Mac and PC.
FrameChannel currently works with BigeFrame’s Models DPF3220 and DPF3219 and PhotoVu’s PV1750 and PV1965. In addition, FrameChannel supports the Google Screensaver, Google Gadgets, and other selected Screensavers and desktop widgets.
We welcome your feedback and suggestions on the FrameChannel service as well as partnership discussions with frame manufacturers, content providers and desktop software providers.
