Digital Photos in Your Wallet

Wallet-sized digital picture frame

Many of us carry pictures of family and loved ones in our wallets. With the coming of digital picture frames and the growth of digital photography, carrying snapshots was bound to change. Brookstone is selling a product that shows just how that change could happen: a wallet with a digital picture display in it.

These wallets, which retail for US$50 for men or women, can store up to 55 pictures, transferred to the wallet via a USB connection to a PC. The screen is just 1.4 inches, but that’s probably not much smaller than most wallet-sized snapshots.

While these look a little kludgey, they are neat novelty items and make clear that we’re probably going to see more products like this in the future. Though it seems weird to consider buying an extended warranty for a wallet, this does go to show that the changes wrought by digital imaging aren’t just happening on our walls or in our cameras, they even extend to our pockets.
