Fidelity Electronics’ New Line of Digital Photo Frames
Toronto, ON-based company Fidelity Electronics has announced that it will be rolling out a new line of digital photo frames throughout the summer, including six models that will appeal to varying customer needs.
The DPF-1000PF, for example, is suited to professional photographers, featuring a large, 10.4-inch display, 1GB internal memory, and support for up to 17 MP shots. It boasts advanced color controls, specs, and software, and auto rotate.
Designed for business use, the DOF-1000F comes equipped with a 10.4-inch high resolution multimedia screen, two-hour rechargeable batteries, and 256 MB internal memory. Fidelity cites photo slide presentations as a useful application for business customers.
Fidelity offers the DPF-7000F for the entry-level user, featuring a high resolution 7-inch screen, instant viewing via slots for popular memory cards, and user-friendly on-board controls. The picture can be adjusted from portrait to landscape mode, and the frame comes in black or clear acrylic design. The DPF-7010F adds enhanced software and a wireless remote control.
Adding music and video to the mix is the new 7-inch DPF-7050F. It includes two additional interchangeable frames and 256 MG of internal memory. It is operated via onboard or remote controls, and supports USB and all popular memory card formats.
The DPF-1050F expands on the current DPF-1040F by adding 256 MP of internal memory, and new software that offers “crisper graphics” and advanced user-managed functions from on-board or remote controls.
“We are establishing Fidelity Electronics as a global provider of a wide range of high quality, well priced digital picture frames,” commented Stan Samole, President, Fidelity Electronics. “We are very enthusiastic about the company’s rapid growth and expansion, as well as the new line of products we are now offering, which were developed because we believe in listening to our customers and giving them what they ask for.”
These new Fidelity digital photo frames will be priced from $99.00 to $399.00.

DPF-7000F – received as a gift Christmas 07. The AC adapter that came with it was defective – led on it would stay on forever before it was plugged in, but it would go out a short time after it was plugged into the DPF, then no display. When it did work it would stay on the first picture. The adapter failed soon after that (a few days). I found it worked fine with a multi-plug multi-voltage 1 amp adapter for something else, so I rigged up a physically larger than the original typical unregulated AC adapter of the same as original rating (12v DC 500ma; actual voltage can be more, no problem) I already had by splicing it’s cord to the original cord with it’s smaller than usual plug (center is +). Picture quality is quite good. Looks fine within a viewing angle of ~60 degrees horizontally, ~30 degrees vertically, from straight on. I find how long it takes for it to display a picture and to move to the next one is directly proportional to the resolution/size in bytes of the image – if it’s smaller, it displays and moves to the next one faster – e.g. displays each image about 20 seconds for a ~2kb jpg file. This model has no display time adjustments, no built in memory – you must plug in a memory card (MMC, SD, MS, or XD) with *.jpg images on it – no way of inputting images other than the card in the one card slot, and no way to turn it on or off other than plugging it in/unplugging it or removing/installing the memory card (displays “No Card”, forever).

I have a Fidelity Electronics model DPF-7005F 7″ picture frame and I lost the DC adapter for it. It says on the picture frame it needs a 12v DC 1.2A adapter. Does anyone know where I can get another one. Can’t seem to get an email or web address for Fidelity Electronics where I can contact them for a replacement. I tried a multi-adapter I had but couldn’t get any of the points to fit into the picture frame. So I have a perfectly good 7″ picture frame that I can’t use.

7010 – Received as a gift. Problems include 1) it creates preview jpeg of each image on the card (SD), 2) often takes several minutes to move from image to image, setting it to 5 seconds does not make a difference 3) sometimes freezes and will not move to next image. Poor documentation (what is flat mode? What is edit mode?). Very unhappy with this product.
