PhotoVu (ing) our Conference Room

Sometime it just takes time! That’s the way I’m currently feeling about the PhotoVu PV1945. Through some trial and tribulation, I met the challenge of the setup process associated with external RSS feeds. PhotoVu’s documentation does define RSS as a “black diamond” feature appropriate for only the most technology-savvy. But, I am now proud to report that I can navigate black diamonds and the end result is worth the pain of a few falls.

Mounted on our conference room wall, the PhotoVu frame welcomes visitors to our Massachusetts offices with fresh, lively content which includes an array of skiing and windsurfing photos, and jokes, quotes, and trivia (which have been converted to images) all fed by our customized RSS feeds.

And it works - day in and day out! Once set up, the PhotoVu wireless photo frame works without difficulty or incident and looks great. Connected to our Apple wireless router, the frame pulls content from our RSS feed every few minutes. Lively and timely images flow through the frame throughout the day without our intervention.

Unfortunately, the content we’re displaying this morning is memorable - but maybe not in a way we’d want. Today’s Joke of the Day:
“My fiancée is so cheap that he bought me a ringtone for our engagement.”
Over time, we’re hoping to be able to forget the groan-inducing jokes and have the PhotoVu frame be the only memorable thing.
