Wireless Digital Picture Frames in the Workplace: Your Children Are Not Far Away Any More

Posted on Feb 8, 2007 by Jane Goodwin at 12:05 am

When my children were tiny, and I had to leave them at daycare, it would have been so nice to get an occasional glimpse into their activities. I am not speaking of video cameras, set up to monitor staff quality, or to film each and every moment of every single day and send it straight to my computer. I would have watched it instead of working! No, I didn’t need that.

I just wanted pictures. I wanted candid snapshots of my toddlers, playing and eating and napping and getting along fine with the other little children, and being well-behaved at any given moment. Or not. I wanted to see that, too. Sigh.

Now, with the new wireless digital picture frames, I could do that. Well, YOU can do that.

Daycare personnel are, of course, far too busy to cater to a parent’s every whim, but if you donated a digital camera to the center, and asked nicely, I’m betting that someone there would be happy to send you some pictures every hour or so. Think of it: you’re working hard, and trying to remember just exactly why you come here every day, when you glance at your wireless picture frame and there’s a brand new picture of your child, taken five minutes ago, smiling into the camera with pudding all over her face.

And now you remember why you come to work every day.

It’s also awesomely positive free publicity for the daycare center.

Wireless digital picture frames are the coolest invention of the year. I want one. You want one, too. So does your mother, and your grandmother, and your best friend, and everybody else you know.
